Business Edge Systems (BES) has been appointed as the local distributor and systems integrator for MyNetonomy, an e-care and e-commerce software solution specifically designed for the service complexities of the wireless communications industry.
Developed by Netonomy, MyNetonomy establishes personalised electronic service portals between wireless service providers and their customers. Users of communications services can choose to manage the way that they purchase, use and pay for those services, without having to go to a point of sale location or contact a call centre.
"There is a gap in the market for a self-service solution that eases the immense strain on local telecoms customer support," says Rob Stansell, MD of BES.
With the introduction of GPRS and new innovative products and services being rolled out by mobile service providers, the existing support channels available to effectively service a growing number of dealers, corporates and individual customers are becoming inadequate.
"MyNetonomy eases the pressure on call centres and provides superior levels of customer service by allowing tasks such as paying of pre- and post-paid accounts, changing tariff plans and service options, and subscribing to new services to be carried out online," says Stansell.
MyNetonomy Portals can be accessed on a variety of channels such as cellphones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), PCs, interactive voice response systems (IVRs) and interactive TVs.
Commenting on the appointment, Mark Callen, Sales and Marketing Director at Netonomy, says Netonomy wanted to partner with a company in SA that has extensive experience in implementing self-service solutions and with the necessary technical skills to integrate and support the MyNetonomy product. "Business Edge Systems fulfils all these requirements as a complementary technology partner. The company has an excellent track record in the integration of Internet/intranet projects in the telecommunications and financial service sectors," he says.
With offices in Boston, London, Madrid, Paris and Rotterdam, Netonomy`s software, MyNetonomy, has already been adopted by many leading communications service providers in Europe, including Vodafone, Bouygues Telecom, Mobistar, Orange DNA and Telecom Italia.
