Danware, the world`s leading provider of high-end remote control software for professional users, announced today the latest version of its multi-award winning NetOp Remote Control.
NetOp Remote Control 8.0 is the most comprehensive, effective and security-conscious way to maintain IT support. Designed to fit the most complex of environments, NetOp enables IT professionals to access virtually any desktop and server platform remotely. The solution provides the highest level of centrally managed secure connectivity, supporting all standard communication protocols, including IPv6, which is the standard of the future for Internet and general network communication.
The combination of remote control, remote management and enterprise level security makes NetOp the ultimate enterprise solution for user support and maintenance as well as remote management of servers.
"In today`s IT-dependent economy, your business is only as good as the tools you use to support it," says Ighsaan Akoojee, Product Manager at Networks Unlimited. "If you allow employees to run any remote access tool that they please, no matter how inexpensive it is, you may be exposing your organisation to external attacks, and you may find that the less expensive products in fact have a very high price."
Unlike low-cost remote control alternatives, such as the ones embedded into operating systems or freeware, NetOp Remote Control 8.0 offers enterprise level stability, security and functionality, all in one single package.
NetOp Remote Control 8.0 highlights
NetOp Remote Control 8.0 offers an unparalleled level of stability without compromising on security or functionality.
Security
NetOp Remote Control 8.0 prioritises your organisation`s security. Any access request must fulfil numerous criteria, including authentication and authorisation against a local or centralised enterprise authentication system, such as Windows Domain, a Directory Service, or an RSA SecurID Server. NetOp Remote Control protects traffic against eavesdropping by using 256-bit AES encryption and intruder attacks can be traced using NetOp`s extensive event logging.
Communications
Without jeopardising firewall security, the versatile communication layer in NetOp Gateway offers a single entry point from the Internet. The Gateway uses only one open TCP port, allowing up to 200 external users to simultaneously reach computers on the LAN behind the firewall, fully authenticated and encrypted. NetOp Remote Control 8.0 ships with native IPv6 support, allowing communication with 128-bit IP addresses. The NetOp Gateway can even route NetOp traffic between IPv4 and IPv6 clients, thus making the transition phase to IPv6 easier.
Remote management
Managing a network remotely can be cumbersome in Windows because the administrative tools are spread out between applications, each with a different user interface. NetOp Remote Control`s new Remote Management facility assembles many of these tools in one powerful, easy-to-use console.
Cross-platform support
NetOp Remote Control 8.0 can connect across the majority of standard communication protocols and across different operating systems with remarkable forward and backward compatibility. This includes almost any version of Windows, as well as Linux, Solaris, Mac OS X, OS/2, and DOS.
Multi-guest sessions
With NetOp Remote Control 8.0, several support people can simultaneously work remotely on the same computer. They can all view the same remote desktop, and they can switch keyboard and mouse control between each other, allowing them to brainstorm particular problems and easily share knowledge.
The new, improved version of NetOp Remote Control combines all the functionality that your organisation needs in today`s high-risk IT environment. Now, more than ever, it is essential that remote access is restricted to authorised users only.
"NetOp is built on the premise that people seeking access are intruders until proven otherwise," explains Akoojee. "NetOp Remote Control 8.0, with its extension of remote control to remote management and its increased levels of security, has the high quality features that enable enterprises to save time and money, and most importantly, do so without compromising security," he concludes.
Networks Unlimited is the official distributor of NetOp Remote Control in southern Africa and currently has over 500 clients using the product. Clients include leading financial institutions, tertiary institutions, accounting firms, national government and retail stores.
