NetOp School 2.51 software enables real-time broadcast of multimedia content

The new version 2.51 of Danware`s NetOp School once again sets new standards for computer-based teaching. The application that can be used in virtual and traditional classrooms, is now offering extended possibilities for sharing real-time multimedia content. Even remotely connected users will now be able to follow an instructional video via the Internet.

Danware, the world`s third largest provider of remote control software, today announced the release of NetOp School 2.51. The new version introduces new advanced functions to its already highly acclaimed feature set.

The most significant new feature enables an instructor to centrally control local replay of movies including sound using Windows Media Player. The media file can be replayed from either a shared or a local drive or from the Internet (URL). The complete action takes place right in front of the audience on their own pc monitors. Even remotely connected users will now be able to follow an instructional video accompanied by the instructor`s explanations. They simply use the data connection for speech instead of a telephone.

NetOp School 2.51 offers teachers and corporate trainers a powerful combination of more than 15 essential tools for networked classroom instruction. Most important are: broadcast any screen to all users, monitor users screens for quick assistance, lock users` keyboard and mouse by a single click.

The application can be used in physical classrooms, such as data-labs, as well as virtual classrooms where the teacher and students are physically separated, but connected via a LAN, WAN, intranet or Internet.

NetOp School is a specialised version of Danware`s international bestseller NetOp Remote Control. NetOp School was introduced in 1997 and is sold in more than 60 countries.

"With the introduction of version 2.51 Danware have once again demonstrated their commitment to making NetOp School the number one teaching software solution," says Ighsaan Akoojee, NetOp Product Manager.

Akoojee adds: "New NetOp School v2.51 is now truly a complete package. Although clients were happy using NetOp School`s powerful feature set for general instruction, they were still forced to invest in expensive LCD projectors to show multimedia videos in the PC classroom. Danware have answered their requests with this impressive feature offering. The video projector no longer has a place in the PC classroom!

"Moreover this new feature will make NetOp School a more attractive solution for employee and corporate training across a LAN or WAN," concludes Akoojee.
