Blue Label Technology, distributor of NetSupport products in SA, is proud to announce that NetSupport Manager 8 has won two awards from leading international publications, Network Computing and PC PRO.

In awarding its Editor`s Choice title to NetSupport Manager 8, ahead of a field of 15 other competitors, Network Computing said of the product: "NetSupport Manager 8 delivers a complete toolbox of utilities that eases the burden of network support and will undoubtedly have a positive impact on total cost of ownership."

Most recently, Network Computing has also given NetSupport Manager 8 its Well-Connected award, in recognition of the product`s superiority. The publication said: "The remote control software product was chosen for its exceptional performance, enterprise-class deployment and manageability, and wide OS support."

Pitted against another 10 leading products, PC PRO gave NetSupport Manager 8 a five-star rating, saying: "It`s a quality product that`s very easy to use with an impressive range of features for the price. As a support package it looks to have all the angles covered."

NetSupport Manager enables network administrators and support staff to access and address any problems on users` computers in real-time, without leaving their desks. Problems are sorted in about a third of the time usually taken, resulting in an increase in efficiency. What`s more, productivity is boosted as technicians can attend to more problems faster, reducing unnecessary downtime.

Blue Label Technology MD, Tito Pereira, also says: "NetSupport Manager 8 is able to slash any company`s conventional support costs by an average of 57%. This saving dramatically improves a business`s bottom line."

NetSupport Manager 8`s list of features includes:

* Remote Control: This enables a network administrator to watch, share or control the screen, keyboard and mouse of a workstation from a remote location. An administrator can also remotely stop and start services, end applications and more.

* Help Requests: This enables NetSupport users to send a message to the help desk asking for assistance. The help desk can then instantly connect to and work with that user.

* Show Function: The powerful Show Function can be used to conduct computer-based training without the need for additional audio-visual equipment.

* File Transfer: Files can be transferred and manipulated between workstations using advanced drag-and-drop technology. NetSupport 8 also now uses intelligent "Delta File Transfer" to reduce data transfer times when overwriting files that already exist.

* Chat: This function allows a two-way chat session between selected multiple users in either text of full audio mode.

* Hardware & Software Inventory: This allows for a real-time view of the hardware and software installed on a target workstation, without ever needing to leave the NetSupport Control programme to gather this information.

Current studies show that by 2005, more than 60% of the US workforce will be working as "remote workers". This means that cost-effective remote support will become increasingly important to a company`s success and profitability.

Pereira says South African business is expected to follow this trend. He adds: "It is encouraging, therefore, that Blue Label is able to supply its customers with a proven best of breed product, in the form of NetSupport Manager."
