Netsurit, an IT service provider specialising in small to medium enterprises, has bought Electron Highway for an undisclosed sum.
The company says the acquisition of Electron Highway, which focuses on Apple Macintosh support and integration with PC environments, has increased its turnover more than 50%.
Netsurit MD Orrin Klopper says his company`s growth strategy calls for further acquisitions as well as conventional organic growth.
"With the acquisition of Electron, we are targeting a specific need experienced by a significant vertical market, namely advertising and marketing, by introducing the capability to integrate and support Apple Macintosh environments."
He says the Apple platform is the preferred computing solution for graphic designers in creative and advertising agencies, but mixed environments dominate such organisations.
Following the recent announcement that Apple computers will be based on Intel processors from 2006, Netsurit expects more business that calls for the integration of mixed Apple and PC environments.
"With Electron comes strong technical capability with a particular competency in Apple and Microsoft integration, which is a key differentiator for the combined business."
