SAP executives, customers, partners and industry analysts are to arrive in SA on 21 July as part of a 50-city tour of five continents to promote the latest release of SAP's NetWeaver integration and application platform.
"The tour is aimed at highlighting NetWeaver's role in executing flexible business strategies and driving business change while reducing IT costs and complexities," says Simon Carpenter, SAP Africa marketing director.
SAP NetWeaver supports open industry standards and interoperability for integration with SAP and non-SAP systems. "What this means," says Carpenter, "is that companies can save money by using their existing IT infrastructures as a base for new business processes."
Carpenter says this approach has received the approval of commentators and analysts. "Gartner recommends that customers choose vendors who offer an integrated platform that supports a service-oriented architecture that will enable change in an evolutionary way, while using existing IT investments."
The NetWeaver roadshow is to end in Portugal in October.
