The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) says its Network+ certification is to be upgraded next year to cover advances in technology and reflect changes in job tasks.
CompTIA says candidates using the current Network+ exam objectives should register to write the exam as soon as possible.
"We plan to introduce the upgraded certification exam to coincide with the conclusion of the 2004 academic year," says Loraine Vorster, regional director of CompTIA SA. "This will give training institutions enough time to update the content of courses and learning materials."
Vorster says the four CompTIA Network+ domains have been modified in the 2005 exam to reflect changes in job roles. The new exam objectives place greater emphasis on network implementation and support.
