SMC has unveiled its EZ Networking Kit, a simple start-up network solution for small businesses and home users needing to connect two or more PCs.
The plug-and-play kit includes all the networking components necessary to set up a basic network, allowing users to share files, printers and other computer resources or even play networked computer games.
"Unlike traditional network set-ups, the EZ Networking kit means networking PCs can be achieved without expert knowledge. The PCI cards plug into each PC and link to the dual-speed hub up with the extension cords provided," says Greg Perkins, country manager for SMC SA.
"No additional configuration is needed and the hub`s compact design and versatile mounting stand makes it ideal for home users or small offices."
The kit comes fully equipped with a compact dual-speed hub featuring four auto-sensing 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX ports, two 32-bit Fast Ethernet PCI network cards, and two UTP network cables.
Additional PC connections can easily be cascaded to another hub or switch thanks to the hub`s daisy-chain port, making it simple to extend the number of network users.
The kit comes with a three-year warranty, is fully compatible with both Ethernet and Fast Ethernet networks, and the network card driver supports all standard operating systems.
