Networks Unlimited has a long-term strategy to become the leading value-added distributor in Sub-Sahara Africa for security solutions, which effectively means that Networks Unlimited will no longer be able to receive orders directly from clients, but rather via a select group of partners.
"Part of our philosophy is to empower our partners with the necessary sales and technical skills, and to assist them wherever possible in promoting best-of-breed technology to their clients as a value-add," says Craig Copeland, director for Networks Unlimited.
"Having recently added PGP Encryption Software and Webroot`s SpySweeper to the existing range of products represented by Networks Unlimited for Sub-Sahara Africa, we are shifting our focus to specifically targeting security solutions," adds Copeland.
Networks Unlimited is also the sole distributor of SurfControl`s Threat Protection Suite, and IronPort`s world leading e-mail security products, MIMEsweeper and Castlerock.
In adopting this strategy, Networks Unlimited is to sell its NetOp client database to a newly established BEE company, Sisonke Software Solutions, effective from 1 October 2006, for an undisclosed amount. Sisonke Software Solutions will be headed up by Ighsaan Akoojee, who has been the Networks Unlimited Product Manager for NetOp for the past eight years, bringing with him extensive product and industry knowledge as well as long-standing relationships with many existing clients.
Sisonke Software Solutions will resell NetOp School, NetOp Remote Control, as well as other related NetOp software and complementary technologies.
Sisonke Software Solutions will continue to enjoy the ongoing support from Networks Unlimited, as the distributor, and to this extent will be the only recognised partner for NetOp products in Sub-Saharan Africa.
