Netxactics has announced its agreement with anti-virus vendor, Sophos, to act as its primary local partner and distribution channel. This new alliance will see Netxactics selling and supporting the Sophos Anti-Virus product line to businesses across South Africa.
"Given the international success of the Sophos Anti-Virus product, we are confident of its capabilities and the benefits it can offer the business community," says Brett Myroff, CEO of Netxactics. "Sophos has built itself a powerful reputation internationally for the high quality of its virus protection and world-class 24x7 technical support."
Sophos Anti-Virus is a complete anti-virus solution with network functionality at its core. It was designed specifically for the corporate network and offers an easily updated, flexible business solution for managing the complexity of networks from small local area networks to large multi-server, multi-platform WANs.
The product has been certified by independent bodies such as ICSA Labs, West Coast Labs and Virus Bulletin for its 100 per cent detection rate against viruses in the wild.
Virus incidents are automatically reported and centrally logged with Sophos, while adding new servers and workstations is simple and straightforward, according to Myroff. "The product functions in both on-access and on-demand modes, while pull and push technologies ensure low network load operation without user intervention."
As a Sophos primary partner, Netxactics will be responsible for technical support, which according to Myroff, will be available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. "Because this product is geared at the corporate market there is a serious demand for any-time support, and that is what our technicians offer Sophos customers."
