Meeting the demands of the business and graphics markets, Minolta QMS is offering markets the chance to lower printer running costs by as much as 30% with the launch of its latest colour laser print system, the QMS magicolor 6100.
The print system, which is targeted mainly at corporate business but also at repro and advertising agencies, guarantees dramatic savings on running costs while delivering superior, highly competitive performance and functionality.
First shipments to South Africa were sold out immediately and according to Minolta QMS MD, Robin Mowatt, orders for a second, larger shipment still awaiting arrival have already been filled.
"Demand has been exceptional," says Mowatt. "The system has been selling itself ahead of its official launch here as the most cost-effective option in quality large format colour laser printing today."
Designed specifically for office applications, the Minolta QMS magicolor 6100 prints fast at six to 12 A4 pages a minute in colour and up to 24 A4 pages a minute black-and-white.
Its 1200dpi resolution and automatic colour control make it easy to deliver rich colour and crisp text on a variety of media, including transparencies, labels and envelopes as well as the usual variety of paper stock. Also, support for up to 13" by 19" page size, automatic duplexing and double sided printing make it ideal for creating full colour presentations, reports, brochures and newsletters.
A 200MHz processor - the most powerful in its class - enables fast handling of complex jobs, while a standard 10/100BaseTX Ethernet interface provides quick printer access to the entire office.
Finally, magicolor 6100`s Web-based status and configuration, direct PDF-printing, job accounting and printer management tools make it attractive to both network administrators and end-users.

As a price competitive A3 colour laser printer entering with a base model at around R35 000- up to a fully configured duplex model the magicolor 6100DP which is capable of producing A3 double sided prints, and A5 or A4 colour booklets for a street price of R57 000-, we expect the magicolor 6100 to follow the successful footsteps of the already popular magicolor 2 range of A4 colour laser printers.
