The African Consulting Strategic Alliance (Acstra), the new umbrella organisation of ACCPAC resellers, aims to use its new-found clout to target larger corporations across Africa.

ACCPAC resellers from across SA and Nigeria have joined forces to give them a greater reach and a larger target market. The previously independent resellers have formed an umbrella body which is jointly owned by the independent company management with representation from all the firms.

Acstra has been formed by Easy Access, Finsoft, Multisoft Consulting (Nigeria), Adastra (Cape Town) and Datasupport (Durban).

The companies will re-brand under the Acstra flag offering a unified support, sales structure and marketing while retaining autonomy for their day-to-day operations.

Kevin Laing, acting sales and marketing director for Acstra, says the new organisation will target the mid-tier market. He notes that while Acstra still has the ability to the smaller businesses, the additional national support from the other members will give it the clout to take on the challenge of servicing the larger corporations as well.

"The formation of Acstra Africa should reap great rewards for the associated resellers and their customers," says Jeremy Waterman, MD of ACCPAC Africa. "Furthermore, with ACCPAC`s best-of-breed products and an extensive knowledge base within the group, Acstra Africa is ready to target much larger and more diversified organisations than previously possible as independent resellers."

Acstra will operate immediately from Nigeria, Durban, Sandton, Cape Town and the East Rand. Laing says that plans to expand into the rest of Africa are far advanced.

"By having points of presence in major centres throughout Africa, Acstra Africa can best service organisations that conduct business nationally and beyond the borders of SA."
