Hiive, a new BlackBerry application, helps users find out what is happening on the city scene in SA and track down popular venues across all major cities.
Available for free from BlackBerry App World, Hiive connects users to an online community focused on the best nightclubs and events in town. Clubs, promoters and partygoers can share information about gigs, venues and parties in town via the app.
Hiive employs filterable searches that allow users to hunt down the right venue and event, or to post photographs with updates from a venue.
BlackBerry maker Research In Motion says there is already a “big and lively community” of people posting content to the app, as well as an extensive listing of venues in most of SA's bigger cities.
The app includes maps, GPS coordinates and contact details, while comments made by other Hiive users serve as an indication as to what events or venues are popular. Users can also share information with contacts via social networking platforms Facebook and Twitter, directly from the Hiive app.
