LAN Design, part of the MB Technologies group, has recently announced local availability of SMC`s new EZ Card 10/100, or the "1211TX/WL". The latest release offers users migrating from an Ethernet to a Fast Ethernet environment a cost-effective networking solution.
The EZ Card 10/100 comes with one single RJ-45 port for 10 or 100Mbps. Socket for optional Boot ROM is also included to offer users flexibility to boot up diskless PCs over network. The card`s 32-bit PCI Bus-Mastering architecture brings high data throughput with low CPU utilisation. The card supports "early receive" and "transmit interrupt" to eliminate I/O bottlenecks and increase throughput. ACPI and OnNow/PC98 compliant, EZ Card 10/100 aims to reduce power consumption of PCs.
The card targets network users requiring Plug & Play, high-speed network cards with the following features:
Support of gradual migration to Fast Ethernet
Support of "Remote LAN Wakeup" and "Remote Booting" for efficient desktop management
