Computer hardware group Mustek has appointed Vuli Cuba as its non-executive chairman.
Cuba is CEO of Safika Holdings, which he founded together with its chairman, Moss Ngoasheng, in 1995.
Safika is a significant shareholder in Mustek since 2003.
Prior to founding Safika, Cuba worked at Andersen Consulting and Monitor Consulting for a total of more than 10 years.
Cuba has held directorships at, among others, Rentmeester Assurance, Foschini, Hertz and Worldspace.
Cuba replaces Mustek founder CC Kan, who retired in March. Kan is the father of Mustek CEO David Kan.
For the year to June 2004, Mustek achieved revenue of R2.68 billion, and attributable income of R50.8 million.
