JSE-listed Adapt IT Group says it has appointed Craig Chambers as its chairperson, due to the statutory resignation of Bernard Ravno, who has served on the Adapt IT board since 2003 and has been chairman since 2009.
Adapt IT CEO Sbu Shabalala says the company "sincerely appreciates" Ravno's input over the past nine years: "Ravno has over 31 years of experience in the sugar industry and has been an unwavering support during the group's formative years. We are grateful to him and wish him well."
Adapt IT provides specialised business applications and related services to companies in the manufacturing and mining, higher education and financial services sectors. Among its clients are entities in the sugar industry.
Chambers, who has been Adapt IT's non-executive lead director since 2011, will replace Ravno with immediate effect.
Further changes to the board include the appointment of Thembisa Dingaan as chair of the remuneration and nominations committee. Dingaan was first appointed to the board in May 2011 as an independent non-executive director.
