Corex has released a series of new offerings from its principal, CNet Technology, a vendor which provides solutions for the wireless networking environment.
The first is the CWC-854 Wireless-G Cardbus Adapter. Based on the 802.11g platform, it is said to deliver wireless networking at speeds five times faster than Wi-Fi (802.11b) standard-based products.
The device is said to be is easy to set up on any notebook with a 32-bit CardBus slot using simple "plug-and-play" technology.
"CWC-854 is ideal for small offices that work with multimedia applications and it`s also a great choice for first-time wireless users," says Corex MD Fred Lu.
Another addition to Corex` CNet line up is the CNet wireless Access Point (CWA-854) an affordable IEEE 802.11b/g wireless LAN device, which, according to Lu, is a feature-rich and high-performance solution for connecting multiple LANs in a MAN (Metro Area Network) configuration.
With CWA-854, wireless LAN users can connect at speeds up to 54 Mbps and interoperate with existing popular Wireless-B equipment. To protect data and privacy, the CWA-854 is able to encrypt transmissions. Its advanced security features include a firewall.
The CNet Router (CWR-854) 54Mbps Wireless-G Router features an integrated 4-port 10/100Base-T Ethernet switch which allows users to connect wired computers together to experience all the advantages of networking.
"It makes sharing files and peripherals, such as hard drives, printers, CD-ROMs, DVDs-and easier than ever," says Lu.
"The Router offers advanced features for the highest level of flexibility. This Router protects the network from outside intrusions by enabling the built-in firewall.
"Its PPTP allows you to work from another location using Virtual Private Networking [VPN], while its DMZ hosting lets you play accelerated games over the Internet. It also boasts an encryption function," adds Lu.
A new addition to the CNet line up is the CWD-854 USB 2.0 wireless dongle which is capable of transferring data at up to 54 Mbps, giving users the ability to connect to a wireless network at home, at the office or at any wireless hotspot.
Finally, Corex has also released CNet`s line-up of antennae designed to extend the range of a wireless network`s coverage.
According to Lu, the new in-door and out-door antennae (both omni directional and directional) improve signal strength quality while increasing the total coverage area of the network. They are offered in either wall or magnetic mounting types.
