New data and information quality services company opens its doors in South Africa

InfoBlueprint, recently formed by Bryn Davies and Alan Snow, is open for business to provide services and solutions for data and information management, with the emphasis on quality management.

Bryn was until recently the technical director of Sybase's Cape Town operation and regional manager of Sybase's BI Practice. Alan hails from the UK and is in the process of immigrating to South Africa. Both have - together - over 40 years experience in the IT/business services arena and have started InfoBlueprint to address one of the main barriers to efficient management and decision-making: the lack of quality-managed data.

According to Bryn: "All companies struggle to manage ever-increasing volumes of data, and too often this data is converted to information without first being quality-controlled. Predictably, the result is information that is unreliable, misleading and sometimes dangerous!"

Alan, who has been involved in data and information quality in Europe for nearly 10 years, adds: "All companies need reliable information to be successful, but few companies have adequate processes in place to measure and quality-control their data and the information they derive from it. We can help them to improve the reliability - and therefore the value of their data and information.'"

With a single-minded focus on helping organisations to manage their information assets, InfoBlueprint will also be offering related data and information management services, such as information modeling and data architecture, as well as education and workshops to help organisations understand how to solve data quality problems and improve the quality of their information to the levels demanded by today's business environment.
