New dual-band wireless ADSL2+ router from Netgear

Johannesburg, 23 Aug 2011

A new Netgear high-performance wireless ADSL2+ router has been released by Duxbury Networking. Dubbed the 'all-in-one' home gateway, the Netgear DGND3700 is designed to provide a function-rich solution to consolidate multiple network devices in the home.

It provides connectivity to the Internet with a built-in ADSL modem or a Gigabit Ethernet port to access the latest high-speed services, giving consumers the flexibility to support multiple broadband technologies with a single gateway.

“With dual-band wireless support, the new Netgear DGND3700 can handle multiple high-bandwidth applications across numerous networked devices,” says Andy Robb, chief technology officer at Duxbury Networking.

“The router is targeted at users who expect more from their Internet experience and are connecting a variety of new devices to deliver new social, entertainment and mobile communication experiences. They demand a reliable and speedy Internet connection throughout the home.”

Key features of the new router include a built-in, 4-port Gigabit switch, Netgear's ReadyShare facility that allows shared access to a wide range of USB storage devices, two USB ports, a DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) media server, parental controls, guest network functionality and a broadband usage meter.

“Netgear is not only setting a new industry bar for performance and choice in the wireless networking category, but also redefining the role of the router,” adds Robb.
