New England`s only global bank chooses Mobius for enterprise-wide information management system

BankBoston Corporation in the USA has chosen the Mobius Electronic Document Warehouse (EDW) software suite as the foundation for its information delivery and report distribution strategy. The system will give over 5000 BankBoston on-line viewing users the ability to access over 15 million document pages directly from their desktops.

The Electronic Document Warehouse at BankBoston consists of several Mobius products, including ViewDirect, the archiving engine and document server; and DocumentDirect, the Windows-based viewing client.

BankBoston will evaluate other EDW products based on business requirements that could be presented over the next two years. These tools include DocuAnalyzer for data mining, and DocumentDirect for the Internet for archive access using Web browsers.

The information and reports stored in the EDW will be utilised by the majority of business lines of the bank, including retail and wholesale banking, treasury, securities, trade services, and loans, as well as functions such as payroll and human resources. Presently, BankBoston documents of all types, including reports, statements, images, and others can be retrieved and viewed only if the requester knows what viewing tool is associated with each item.
