Enterprise business process management and business intelligence specialist Ovations Technologies introduces FileNet P8, the latest in enterprise-wide content and process management architecture and the eighth platform in FileNet`s 20-year history.
FileNet, a California-based company, is a provider of business process management (BPM) solutions. Last year Ovations Technologies cemented its relationship with the company by becoming a partner of the Channel Program, called `ValueNet`, and subsequently acquired the rights to sell the entire FileNet product suite to SA and the Sub-Saharan region.
The new solution is a scalable and extensible platform with integrated BPM capability to help companies streamline operations, enhance communication and organise resources to maximise opportunity.
The framework combines FileNet`s content and process management technology with new integration capabilities and innovative solution templates. Accessible through FileNet`s easy-to-use workplace interfaces, comprehensive user features and functions enable administrators, business analysts and end-users to create and manage business content and processes.
"The solution`s ECM application development framework and tools are specifically designed to promote ease of use, rapid application development and lower total cost of ownership," says Ovations Technologies sales and marketing director, George Smalberger.
"FileNet P8 provides unprecedented connectivity capabilities for critical integration among people, content and business processes across applications and organisations," Smalberger continues. This is achieved through the architecture`s use of open standards as well as point-to-point and broad integration solutions."
Integration is facilitated through use of industry standards such as J2EE, XML and SOAP, and technologies such as enterprise application integration (EAI). Moreover, FileNet P8 integrates with industry-leading enterprise portals such as BEA, mySAP, OvaFlo and Siebel.
FileNet stresses that P8 is not about simply storing and retrieving content on an enterprise-wide scale, but rather about supporting processes and applications with dynamic content. Using tools including pre-built solutions templates, predefined events and event subscriptions (rather than custom code), the platform can use the creation, modification or deletion of content as a trigger for workflows, tasks, messages and updates within P8 or integrated applications.
Employees of Ovations Technologies have undergone training in various aspects of FileNet, Smalberger concludes.
