Local value-added reseller of Epicor, New Era Solutions, has announced that the planned international merger of ERP giants Epicor and Scala is now complete.
Says managing director of New Era, Scott McKenzie: "We are very pleased to be, in a small way, part of such a significant merger. The combination of the skills and technologies of both Epicor and Scala is sure to bring a new leader to the global ERP Landscape.
"As an existing partner of Epicor, the merger now gives us access to a host of new technologies, and access to new ideas and benchmarks which in turn will benefit both new and existing partners. The research and development capabilities behind such a large player will provide our customers access to an even more superior set of skills and services."
According to the two companies, the merger will give them the further ability to deliver and support industry-wide solutions anywhere in the world. The joint company boasts in excess of 20 000 customers throughout the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia- Pacific. Over 93% of Scala shareholders were in favour of the Epicor offer.
The merged entities have made several commitments to existing customers to ensure no unnecessary speculation. These include the continued investment into the development of iScala products; strong focus on leveraging both companies` software investment and continued development of product already in the research and development cycle; continued delivery of mid-market ERP solutions based on the Microsoft platform; commitment to the employees of both organisations and a renewed focus on new regions.
Adds McKenzie: "Too often mergers are seen as a negative, but with the complementary aspects of these two companies, it can only be seen as extremely positive. For us at New Era the merger will give us an international support base rivalled by few. We look forward to the final bedding down of the merger so that we can start exploring the new business aspects it could potentially yield."
