New Era Solutions announces winner of international Readers` Choice Award

Johannesburg, 21 Sep 2004

New Era Solutions is proud to announce that well-known publisher Penton Media`s publication Windows IT Pro, has awarded Epicor Corporation a winner in its Third Annual Readers` Choice Awards.

Says Scott McKenzie, Managing Director at New Era Solutions: "Although an international award, this accolade is an excellent example of how companies around the globe are embracing the Epicor products as a solution of choice. As a local provider and value-added reseller of the solutions, we have seen growing local acceptance of the Epicor product suite and alongside our long list of satisfied customers New Era is currently working with a number of new potential customers who are investigating the product."

The competition is run by asking readers / users to vote on their product preference in 16 technology categories. More than 2 000 people voted for their choice among more than 700 products and services. The Epicor product Epicor Financials won the Best Financial Application category.

"Recognition from peers in the industry is an honour and is the ultimate `seal of approval` for the products which won. The third-annual Windows IT Pro Readers` Choice Awards were started as a way for readers to choose and recommend the best technology products in the industry. The awards programme gives readers the opportunity to voice their opinions, and for technology companies to receive the recognition they deserve," said Kim Paulsen, group publisher for Windows IT Pro.

Part of Epicor Enterprise, an end-to-end suite of industry-specific solutions for the global mid-market, the Epicor Financials module includes general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, management, currency management, advanced allocations and financial reporting applications. According to McKenzie, Financials empowers mid-market companies by giving them instant access to up-to-date financial information needed to make critical business decisions.

The Windows IT Pro readers are currently people who are in charge of the buying component for their organisations, and to a greater degree the selection of the technology the company will be using. According to the publishers, the award is a fantastic indication of what people are really using.

"Financial systems can form the cornerstone of an enterprise, and the systems that a company installs have to be -tight, especially in a world where issues like corporate governance, transparency and accurate reporting are possibly the highest on the list of priorities for an organisation. For Epicor to be voted as best-in-class by the people who actually use the technology is a serious endorsement, particularly in a world where competition is on the rise as the global economy becomes more competitive," adds McKenzie.
