New competitor in e-business enablement, WebSoft, has established a fully fledged Durban office in anticipation of growing demand for its products and services and in support of its existing business base in Natal.
CEO Joao Frasco said that, having secured significant new business in recent months, WebSoft had decided to broaden horizons to cover a wider regional business spectrum.
The Natal financial services sector in particular had been identified as a market for WebSoft`s cost-effective e-enablement solutions.
"There is clearly a need for a specialized niche player in Natal and we anticipate strong demand for our feature rich, benchmark systems, marketed through the local broker fraternity" said Frasco.
The initial focus of the company`s offering in Natal would be on the locally developed WebInsure policy administration system, WebCRM, a customer relationship management system which allowed for ready administrative compliance with the new Policy Holders` Protection Bill and WebCalls a call centre management system.
Other products in the WebSoft portfolio included WebClaims, an aggregate claims management system, the Plexys and Casys, domestic and commercial policy admin and management systems and "WebTime", a time logging and billing system.
Moreover, major recent additions were the OmniAnalyser email analysis and reporting system from Hypersoft of Germany and the locally developed K2.Net workflow enabler Sourcecode, both of which had widespread applications. More business solutions would be added as market requirements arose and Natal was now very much part of the company`s overall strategy of providing a comprehensive, homegrown offering of e-business software products and associated services including software development, project management, knowledge management, network management, training and support.
"We are definitely not mere box droppers" said Frasco. "Rather we are premised on providing e-enablement and business solutions that happen to be IT driven, instead of being IT suppliers whose systems are contrived, not always successfully, to try and fit a business need."
WebSoft would focus on building enterprise class insurance solutions on the Microsoft.Net architecture in the coming year with full call centre and customer relationship management integration he said and these would also become available to the Natal market in due course.
WebSoft`s national client base included Unison Risk Management Alliance, Compass Insurance, Reinsurance Consultants and Intermediaries, Mutual & Federal, Santam and the giant insurance brokerage Glenrand MIB, which has a strategic stake in WebSoft. Some 90% of Websoft`s business is annuity based.
Said WebSoft Natal branch manager, Michael Butcher, "We have an excellent team in the Durban office and already market reaction has been very positive. There is no substitute for an on-the-ground presence and with our fresh approach and advanced, user-friendly, cost effective systems we are confident that we can provide the Natal market with much needed answers."
