New Gigabyte multimedia DVD-ROM sidesteps bothersome PC boot-up

Taking multimedia functionality to the next level, Gigabyte Technologies has released its new multifunction DVD-ROM drive (GO-M1600A) that features CD, MP3 and VCD/DVD playback capabilities, without the hassle of PC boot-up.

Immediately available from Rectron, the multimedia DVD features digital sound support and high-quality hi-fi audio, which enables users to flexibly upgrade to a home theatre environment.

Users can also tune into their favourite FM stations without having to turn on their PCs, plus they have the added luxury of using the remote control.

The multimedia DVD`s new-look LCD front panel design also aims to make function operation both pleasing as well as user-friendly.

The DVD drive is capable of reading data in all DVD and CD formats at 16X DVD-ROM-Read /48X CD-ROM-Read. It also offers data access and maintenance at a speed of 22 160KBps.

Adds Coetzee: "The multimedia DVD`s internal intelligent monitor has also been designed to prevent vibration as well as maintain a low noise level."
