Grintek has appointed Makhuparetja Nyama as CEO of its new Grintek Technologies division.
Grintek CEO Shaun Liebenberg says Nyama`s appointment is an important step in the restructuring process within the Grintek Group. "We are indeed fortunate to welcome someone of his stature and experience to lead the Technologies division," he says.
Grintek Limited was recently restructured into two main divisions, one focusing on defence-related industries and the other on technology and electronics. This was done to improve customer and market focus and to achieve greater business efficiency.
As the new CEO of the Technologies division, Nyama will be responsible for the division`s activities in the fields of ICT, energy technologies and aviation systems.
Nyama was previously deputy chief executive responsible for strategy, operations and business development at CS Holdings. An MBA graduate of the University of the Witwatersrand, he started his career at IBM before moving to Telkom, Argil Intellect and CS Holdings.
Liebenberg says he is confident the Grintek Technologies division will grow its leadership role in the South African market. "The restructuring has resulted in a more focused operation that is poised to take advantage of the global boom in the technology sector.
