Tarsus Technologies has announced the immediate availability of the IBM E400 Projector, which offers mobile executives the ultimate in mobility and affordability, in an entry-level projector.
"Weighing a mere 2.1kg and using cost effective DLP technology, the E400 is capable of delivering VGA, SVGA and XGA resolution images at a brightness of 1300 ANSI Lumens. These specifications are bolstered by a real world business benefit, namely a lamp life that is in the region of 2 000 hours," says Brett Walter, IBM product manager at Tarsus Technologies.
The E400 projector also has the ability to accept signals from a DVI-I, S-Video and Composite video source and is compatible with the NTSC, PAL, SECAM, SDTV, EDTV and HDTV standards, although an external HDTV source is required for the latter.
"The benefits of using the E400 are best realised when used in conjunction with an IBM ThinkPad," Walter explains. "The first of these is auto-sensing technology, which allows users to simply plug their ThinkPad into the E400 and begin their presentation. The projector automatically senses the signal, reducing set-up time substantially."
Customers can also rest assured that their projector will be covered in terms of repairs and support, with a three-year limited warranty on the machine and a three-month limited warranty on the lamp.
The warranty also entitles the user access to IBM`s worldwide service and support. With other projectors, the customer could pay extra to get the service and support that comes standard with the IBM E400.
"For example, if an E400 projector under warranty needs a warranty-related repair, a replacement projector can be shipped to the customer quickly and easily, giving the peace of mind to focus on the presentation and not on the projector," Walter concludes.
