The IT education industry, like any industry, is developing and maturing. And after heading Pastel Software for the past couple of years, Terry Kier has rejoined Masterskill, a provider of training products and services, as managing director.
Under Kier`s leadership, Masterskill will focus on its core business - supplying quality content to training institutions and resellers. But according to Kier, this does not mean flooding the market with products.
"Technology-based education is crucial for skills development, and we aim to provide innovative products and services to the IT educational community. We are not centred on supplying just e-learning products, but instead on providing a total learning solution - one that will match both the problems learners face in SA today, and that fits in with what today`s learning culture dictates," he says.
According to Kier, the company will continue to follow an aligned channel strategy, and will not compete with its clients. Instead, it will focus on gaining, growing and retaining partners and relationships.
"Although management has acquired a substantial stake in Masterskill, Softline will remain invested in the business, and we hope to leverage group synergies in order to consolidate Masterskill`s position as market leader within the e-learning industry."
