Now regarded as the lowest priced Token Ring solution available, the Madge Presto PCI Plus adapter offers improved performance, simplicity and next generation Operating System (OS) support, making it the most cost effective Token Ring connection for widescale deployment.
"The Madge Presto PCI Plus adapter has revised hardware which includes advanced PCI data transfer code to maximise performance, combined with enhanced software drivers which reduce the CPU overhead, making the adapter ideal for desktop and workgroup server applications," said Madge Africa MD Peter Turvey. "Extra bandwidth can also be delivered to the desktop or server as the adapter`s network drivers support both shared and full-duplex Token Ring."
As with all Madge Token Ring interface cards, the Madge Presto PCI Plus adapter runs on common network driver software to offer unattended installation, auto-configuration and automatic speed sensing, ensuring that large-scale rollouts can be easily and inexpensively deployed and maintained.
Featuring Madge Perspective LAN Tools software, the Madge Presto PCI Plus adapter provides investment protection with support for next generation Operating Systems such as Microsoft Windows NT 5.0. The adapter also helps reduce energy costs by supporting Intel`s Wired for Management initiative and offering comprehensive power management and control features including Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI).
"The product also delivers on our continuous commitment to bring down the cost of Token Ring networking as outlined in the Madge Perspective strategy, the road map for taking the technology into the 21st Century," Turvey added.
