New MD for Rocketseed

Business e-mail solutions provider Rocketseed has appointed Mark Williams as its new MD.

With a background in advertising, Williams is to drive Rocketseed`s to position itself as a core marketing tool rather than a technical e-mail application.

"There is a bit of a new view in the market of the way e-mail marketing is looked at," Williams says, adding that e-mail space can be used for branding and marketing purposes, aimed at the same strata as the sender of the mail.

"Most e-mail is sent to friends," he notes.

Williams says when he was MD of event and communications agency VWV, he was a client of Rocketseed.

"I believed in it then, and I believe in it even stronger now," he says, adding that some clients have had a 200% to 300% increase in Web site traffic just because of e-mail branding.

In addition to three years at VWV, Williams has worked at Tinderbox Interactive, Dimension and 8seconds.

He says the South African MD position is a new one. The group, headed by CEO Cameron Hulett, also has MDs in Australia and the UK.
