New moves for Toni Ward at IT4Africa

Johannesburg, 17 Jul 2006

The Fujitsu Siemens Computers team at IT4Africa has a new leader.

Toni Ward started her IT career at HP in 1984. In her 15 years at HP she was most known for her time running the HP demo centre, calculator sales and starting the retail channel.

Ward was the first person at HP to place an HP printer on a retailer`s shelf in SA. This experience in retail made her the perfect choice for Tarsus which "headhunted" Ward when HP left South Africa and the old HPS moved in under the Siltek umbrella.

During her time at Tarsus, Ward gained a huge amount of experience in distribution, servicing the traditional channel as well as the retail channel.

When HP re-invested in SA, Ward was "headhunted" by HP SA to manage supplies and retail/consumer business.

During her last year at HP she was the IPG Marketing Manager.

Ward decided to leave HP and took some time off to reflect, a time to "smell the roses", but the IT bug had bitten hard and foreign shareholders contacted Ward to start the distribution of HP supplies into English-speaking Africa. Her responsibility was to grow the Despec Africa brand (now IT4Africa), a major challenge but very rewarding. Ward and her team grew the Africa business exponentially.

Ward will continue to manage the supplies business into Africa for IT4Africa, but has also taken on the responsibility of managing the Fujitsu Siemens Computer team at IT4Africa.

"I look forward to meeting the SA resellers again and to bring to them the vast range of Fujitsu Siemens Computers products. I would like my team to add value and to surprise the channel with excellent service, innovative marketing strategies and value-add!"

Ward can be contacted at (011) 236 5500 or e-mail toniw@it4africa.com.
