New Netgear 3G Router from Duxbury Networking

Johannesburg, 02 Nov 2009

Chas released a new 3G mobile broadband router from its principal, Netgear. Dubbed the MBR624GU, it is designed to cost-effectively add power and flexibility to networks.

Supporting all major 3G dongles from cellular network providers MTN, Vodacom and Cell C, it combines the software drivers for wireless 3G HSPA and EV-DO USB modems with a router, LAN switch, 802.11g access point and a Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) double firewall.

“The Netgear MBR router facilitates continuous connectivity to the user's network resources and the Internet, at the same time allowing users to wirelessly share broadband access with all networked computers,” says Andy Robb, chief technology officer at Duxbury Networking.

“It also allows users to download large files, videoconference and distribute and play high-quality digital movies, photos and MP3s.”

Features of the new Netgear router include its high-speed 802.11g wireless capability with Netgear's secure Push-N-Connect Wi-Fi Protected Setup. An integrated switch allows users to directly connect four computers or any combination of four computers, access points or printers.
