Pinnacle Systems has rolled out a new range of disc-creation solutions to the South African marketplace that enables the creation of DVDs, CDs and other applications.
Distributed by Rectron, InstantCopy and InstantCD/DVD were developed as a result of Pinnacle`s acquisition of VOB Computersysteme - a digital imaging and optical software provider - at the end of last year.
InstantCopy is a personal CD and DVD application that uses CD/DVD duplication software, for example, to fit a 9GB DVD movie on a 4.7GB recordable DVD disk.
Says Rui Pereira, general manager at Rectron: "InstantCopy can indeed add value to your DVD collection as it enables real 1:1 copying of movies, which includes all menus, features, languages, audio tracks and bonus materials.
"The product is, therefore, ideal for users who want to backup data, audio and video content which they own on CDs or DVDs."
It is, however, important to note that InstantCopy can only be used for audio and video CDs and DVDs that are not copy-protected.
InstantCD/DVD compliments InstantCopy as it features a complete suite of authoring tools for data management and optical disc creation.
It enables users to create, burn and copy any kind of CD or DVD media such as MP3.
"One of the key benefits of InstantCD/DVD is users can convert their CD music into MP3 files and their MP3 files into CD," he comments.
The release of InstantCopy and InstantCD/DVD follows on Pinnacle Systems` introduction of Expression -software for sharing photos and home movies on CDs and DVDs. Expression enables users to capture, edit and compile photos and movies.
