New second-generation Bluetooth USB adapter now from Rectron

Gigabyte Technology, together with official South African distributor Rectron, has announced the immediate availability of the Gigabyte Bluetooth USB Adapter (GN-BTD02), the second-generation in the series that now features improved wireless functionality.

The thumb-sized (100g), plug-and-play USB adapter offers Class I Bluetooth technology that allows for a wireless range of up to 100m and 723Kbps data rate that ensures improved connection speeds.

Adds Michael Hann, Gigabyte product manager at Rectron: "As the adapter supports up to seven Bluetooth devices simultaneously, users can download photos, share and print files from their Bluetooth-enabled devices while at the same time using a Bluetooth wireless mouse and keyboard."

The GN-BTDO2 is also bundled with management and connectivity software and features two LED indicators that display power (Green LED) and whether a wireless Bluetooth link has been established (Blue LED).

The Gigabyte Bluetooth USB Adapter also offers the following features:

* Microsoft Windows 98SE /Me/2000/XP and Mac OS X v10.1.4 or above compatibility;
* Compliant with Bluetooth v1.2 and USB 1.1 specifications;
* Enables personal area network (PAN) connectivity; and
* Built-in communication security (pairing, encryption, authentication) ensures privacy.
