A versatile wide format full colour printer developed to cater for CAD applications in architecture, engineering and design is now available in South Africa from the Square One Solutions Group, a JSE-listed company focusing on applied technology solutions.
The IPE-3020 Pro manufactured by Seiko Instruments Europe, is claimed to offer the industry's highest resolution of up to 1 440dpi x 2 880dpi and uses the latest generation piezo variable drop inkjet head (CMYK).
"Ideal for industrial drawings, architecture, photographic renderings, project presentations, solid modelling, electronics design, mapping, satellite images and posters, among others, the printer operates with the new generation wide model variable drop print head, which has eight rows of 180 nozzles," says Philippa Dal Medico, channel manager at Square One.
"It produces the highest resolution for CAD at 2 880dpi, and this, coupled with wave print technology, offers effortless production and very high quality prints. Although compact, the IPE-3020 Pro gives a maximum media size of 1 080mm and includes a motorised take-up system for handling short run production print jobs."
Connectivity is achieved via standard Ethernet and USB ports. Windows 200XP, Vista and Autocad drivers are included. Major RIP imaging software is supported for heavy imaging and large format scan-to-print tandem solutions. Standard memory is 256MB and media and ink monitoring can be conducted via the network.
The IPE-3020 delivers an A1 page in 44 seconds and an A0 page in 91 seconds. There are five other print speed options, depending on the quality required.
