Neotel has appointed Wandile Zote as executive head of external affairs.
Zote started his duties at Neotel on 1 June. He takes over from Fani Zulu, who returned to Eskom to take up the position of senior GM of group communications.
Zote has extensive experience in corporate communications, gained during a period of more than 10 years in both the public and private sectors, says Neotel.
He is the former head of corporate affairs at e-TV and the former head of corporate communications at the State IT Agency. His previous employers also include South African Airways, construction materials company Holcim SA and the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).
Zote joined the SABC in 1988, where he worked for more than eight years in both radio and television, covering major news events locally and abroad, including SA's first democratic elections in 1994.
He is a journalism graduate of the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. He also completed his Management Advancement Programme at the University of Witwatersrand's Business School.
