Tarsus Technologies has announced the availability of the HP Compaq TC4200 Tablet PC in SA. A perfect balance of performance, durability, functionality and mobility, the TC4200 is a highly convenient mobile computing solution.
"The HP Compaq TC4200 tablet PC is a fully-functional personal computer," explains Jason McMillan, product manager for Tarsus Technologies. "It utilises Windows XP Tablet Edition 2005 with Service Pack 2 and an innovative form factor, giving users the convenience of handwriting on a tablet PC or using the system as a conventional laptop."
McMillan explains that there is no sacrifice made on power when users choose the TC4200. "This tablet PC uses the high speed Intel Pentium M processor and DDR2 SDRAM to provide super quick, reliable and ultra powerful computing on its mobile platform," he says.
The light and stylish design of the TC4200 also makes it a pleasure to carry and work with while on the road. "With the diminutive 12.1-inch wide viewing angle display and a tiny footprint, users still get all the viewing space they need," explains McMillan.
Versatility has also not fallen prey to the compact design of the TC4200. "The extended battery-life of this tablet PC offers users five-and-a-half hours of working time and up to a week of standby time," boasts McMillan.
"Users can also choose the integrated industry-standard wireless technologies that work best with the built-in Intel RO/Wireless 2200BG 802.11b/g WLAN interface and internal Bluetooth module."
"Wired networking is also taken care of with the integrated NetXtreme Gigabit PCI Express Ethernet Controller with the onboard 56k Fax Modem. The optional HP External MultiBay II allows users to slot-in a variety of optical drives or a second hard drive for increased storage capacity and backups. With this level of versatility, the TC4200 will truly meet the demands of any user."
"Ease of use and reliability round off the TC4200 as the ideal tablet computing solution," continues McMillan. "It features an easy to use scroll-up, scroll-down and enter jog dial as well as pen-activated programmable buttons. There are also ambient light sensors that optimise panel brightness in changing work environments," enthuses McMillan.
"With a durable design and standard docking station, the TC4200 is designed to meet the toughest business requirements. The TC4200 is also supplemented with the HP Mobile Data Protection System that helps protect the hard drive from shock and vibration, reducing the risk of data corruption. When combined with the scratch-resistant lamination, a spill-resistant keyboard and the HP Panel Protection System, the TC4200 will take knocks like no other tablet while providing users with an affordable and versatile computing platform."
The HP Compaq TC4200 tablet PC retails at a recommended retail price of R14 999, inclusive of VAT.
