New Web-based Cardiff LiquidCapture solution answers market demand

Next-generation Cardiff LiquidCapture 2003 solution empowers distributed knowledge workers with ability to put document-driven processes online
Johannesburg, 13 May 2003

Cardiff Software has announced the release of a new Web-based document capture and workflow solution, Cardiff LiquidCapture 2003. Scheduled for a June 2003 release, LiquidCapture will extend Cardiff`s powerful business process automation (BPA) suite by enabling distributed organisations to cost-effectively leverage the Web to quickly on-ramp paper and electronic documents into a workflow process.

Cardiff`s decision to launch LiquidCapture comes in response to strong market demand for a server-based, collaborative document capture solution accessible at the desktop level. According to the 21 March 2003 Document Imaging Report, InfoTrends Research Group is seeing a definite trend towards distributed scanning that is driving departmental and workgroup image scanning as the fastest growth segment with a respective 27% and 37% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) through 2007. These figures are based on 2002 sales numbers that InfoTrends has collected for its upcoming Document Imaging Scanner Forecast and Analysis report.

Business applications, such as a home loans and insurance claims, rely on remote office workers to generate relevant document sets that need to be routed for review, approvals and attachment of supporting documentation. Traditionally, these processes have been manually intensive, relying on mailing and faxing documents between offices. LiquidCapture satisfies the business problem with an easy-to-use and intuitive solution that empowers remote knowledge workers to assemble, categorise and route documents throughout an organisation via the Web, thereby eliminating mailing costs, avoiding lost documents and increasing the speed at which documents are processed.

"Traditional document capture products have missed the mark," said Russ Gould, Cardiff`s director of product management. "Production-level document capture solutions typically require an imaging specialist, while desktop scanning solutions are disconnected and lack the necessary workflow and server capabilities to be a collaborative enterprise solution. LiquidCapture fills this gap with a server-based document capture and workflow solution that leverages an intuitive Web-based interface to put capture at the fingertips of every desktop across the enterprise."

Founding AmVian, Gil Caplan adds: "The new Web-based offering further solidifies our position as the premier distributor of BPA software solutions. The majority of large enterprises in SA are rapidly recognising how BPA solutions are simplifying and automating traditional paper processes enabled by new cost-effective online methods to deliver increased performance and drive measurable financial cost reductions."
