By utilizing VERITAS NetBackup SSO in a SAN environment, customers may offload traffic from the LAN that otherwise slows network operation and disrupts critical online applications.
VERITAS NetBackup SSO is the key SAN-enabling software that facilitates the sharing of storage peripherals, as well as the centralization and automation of backup processes over a Fibre Channel fabric.

VERITAS NetBackup Shared Storage Option is powerful, wizard-driven software for SANs which allows individual tape drives (stand-alone or in a robotic library) to be shared dynamically between multiple VERITAS NetBackup servers. The shared drives are automatically allocated and de-allocated as backup and restore operations dictate, and are connected to each host through enabling hardware. Additionally, the Shared Storage Option Configuration Analyzer detects shared configuration errors or confirms correct configuration.
