NewStep includes social networking

NewStep Networks, a provider of service convergence, has incorporated a social networking communications framework into its Converged Services Node (CSN) platform, according to Business Wire.

NewStep has developed a Facebook application that enables a converged click-to-call experience, providing user control over one's , social network and communications channels.

Similarly, NewStep's widgets for Yahoo!oneConnect and iGoogle bring convergence into a user's own personalised mobile or web portal, leveraging all available presence, location, and behaviour characteristics.

Visionaire gives to charity

Canadian-based SMART Technologies and Visionaire FZE, a UAE based convergence technology provider, signed a memorandum of understanding with educational charity, Indemaj to donate 35 SMART Boards to rural schools in the UAE, says Al Bawaba.

The agreement, facilitated by the Dubai International Financial Centre's (DIFC) High Flyers team through corporate social responsibility programme, was signed at the Ministry of , Dubai, by Khawla Al Mualla, chairperson of Indemaj and Aneeta Gupta, CEO of Visionaire.

Nabil Ramadhan, chief human capital officer, DIFC said, "As part of DIFC's focus on the area of corporate social responsibility, one of the DIFC High Flyer Program's recent projects involved helping to raise funds for local schools".

Aruba to display at CTIA

Aruba Networks' Mobile Voice Continuity (MVC) software for enterprise Fixed Mobile Convergence applications, will be demonstrated at CTIA in conjunction with a Voice Over IP software client built for Nokia's S60 platform, states Fox Business.

MVC software allows dual-mode cellular/ phones to roam between the cellular network and the enterprise wireless LAN, using a single phone number provided by the enterprise PBX.

Aruba's MVC software is available as an upgrade to existing Aruba Multi-Service Mobility Controllers, and is intended to operate in conjunction with the enterprise's IP-PBX.
