Tarsus Technologies, the distribution arm of JSE listed MB Technologies, has announced availability of the IBM ThinkPad A and T Series notebooks. "The new ThinkPad A and T Series are thin, light and equipped with standard RJ-45 and RJ-11 ports, making them fully networkable right out of the box," states Ross Matthee, business manager for IBM at Tarsus Technologies. The A and T Series include interchangeable options while the new UltraPort connector (available only on the T20 and A20p models) allows you to attach the optional, UltraPort Camera.

"Both the ThinkPad A20m and the ThinkPad A20p feature Intel processors, large bright displays, sleek design and the modular Ultrabay 2000, while all models offer versatile connectivity," comments Matthee.

He continues, "The ThinkPad T20 is the lightest ThinkPad notebook to date, but it`s titanium composite shell sacrifices nothing in terms of resilience."

The A Series and T Series are equipped with the new ThinkPad Port Replicator and the ThinkPad Dock, providing cable management and desktop expansion, including a second Ultrabay 2000, plus another slot for a half-size card. "The ThinkPad Port Replicator and ThinkPad Dock let you back up your system and run multiple devices simultaneously," says Matthee.

You can fast-swap devices such as CD-Read/Write, DVD-ROM, CD-ROM, SuperDisk (LS-120), second hard disk drive or second battery using the new integrated, easy loading modular Ultrabay 2000. Ease of use tools include the ThinkPad button that gives instant access to ThinkPad Assistant. This feature offers a quick search engine and online users guide, plus animated demos of operating procedures.

"Not only are the ThinkPad A and T series smart to look at; these machines also smartly link you to the information you need to set up, learn about and enhance your notebook," concludes Matthee.
