Local NGOs will mark World Development Information Day with a three-city video conference on Web development next month.
The Southern African NGO Network (Sangonet) will host the event on Monday 24 October in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.
The event will allow participants to learn about the future focus of the National Development Agency from newly appointed CEO, Godfrey Mokate, the organisation said in a statement.
The programme will also include a video conference link to Seattle, US, for input from Michael Gilbert, a non-profit online specialist who will talk about how NGOs can maximise their Web sites to assist in achieving their development goals, the organisation said.
At the event, Sangonet will unveil a new "NGO Development Information Portal", which is aimed at creating a platform for community exchange and supporting the institutional development of the NGO sector.
