NHA claims another success

Leading IT solutions provider to the healthcare administration industry, NHA, is again setting standards and partnering with key players to improve the performance of its esteemed Medware.

Together with Knowledge Objects Healthcare, NHA has created a powerful application that integrates new dimensions of business intelligence into its existing Medware system. This system has recently and successfully been deployed at Medicover.

Appropriately named, ClaimPower works to drastically improve the claims adjudication process. Populated with over a thousand multi-disciplinary rules including comprehensive radiology, pathology, dental, optometry, forensic, pharmaceutical and hospital rules, ClaimPower enables automating levels of adjudication that could previously only be performed by highly skilled and often scarce human adjudicators.

Medicover administration staff are now able to clinically assess the more complex claims and make decisions quickly, consistently and accurately, key factors that ultimately improve their relationship with their clients.

What`s more, business and clinical users are able to specify, test and rapidly deploy rules in ClaimPower using the English language interface without any coding requirement from IT resources. Apart from the obvious productivity benefits, measured savings are expected to surpass 3% of paid claims in the short-term.

"We needed a system that genuinely supported our unique needs," says Sandi Banks, Membership and Marketing Manager of Medicover. "We needed a system that would greatly enhance the way we anticipate and respond to our clients` needs. ClaimPower has vastly improved the way we work and ultimately our client relationships."

Although NHA`s Medware ultimately facilitates, supports and benefits from this technology, ClaimPower is very much the combined brainchild of both NHA and Knowledge Objects Healthcare.

"ClaimPower is essentially a combined effort," says Neil Harvey, Managing Director of NHA. "Its success has been the result of a close working relationship between Knowledge Objects Healthcare and NHA. ClaimPower brings to Medware a new, exciting and superior dimension of business intelligence that has been customised to support the administrational needs of Medicover."

"Knowledge Objects Healthcare has proven itself time and again as a leader in the artificial intelligence environment. Their unique proprietary technology, Knowledge Power, is reputed to improve and extend the scope and level of automation in the healthcare industry. It therefore made perfect sense to partner Knowledge Objects Healthcare to create greater business intelligence in our Medware system," continued Harvey.

It appears that Knowledge Objects Healthcare is equally impressed with its partnership with NHA.

"In a commercial structure where remuneration is strictly performance-based, we recognised NHA`s strengths, and together designed the deployment architecture," confirmed Mike Collier, Director of Knowledge Objects Healthcare. "As a result of this partnership, Medicover`s interests have been kept paramount, with the risk to its business negligible at all times."

A successful partnership, an improved dimension of business intelligence within Medware and another contented client - it`s little wonder NHA is fast becoming recognised as SA`s most impressive and innovative IT solutions provider to the healthcare administration industry.
