IT solutions provider for the Healthcare Administration Industry, Neil Harvey and Associates (NHA), has recently been awarded a R58 million IT contract with Multimed. The respected medical scheme administration company renewed business with the Cape Town based NHA citing their previous impressive and highly professional two year partnership as reason for the healthy commitment.
Having outsourced all their IT services to NHA for the next five years, Multimed is now equipped to focus its knowledgeable resources on growth and the provision of excellent services to their more than 30 000 principal members and other stakeholders.
"NHA have a proven track record in the IT healthcare arena, and our relationship goes back to the formation of Multimed," said Dr. Herc Hoffman, Chief Executive Officer of Multimed. "NHA`s deep understanding of the complexities and nuances of the industry allow us to fast track our solutions and take advantage of opportunities in a rapidly changing industry."
Neil Harvey, Managing Director of NHA, adds "Multimed`s expertise in the administration business and our IT experience combine to form an ideal partnership, with both parties concentrating on their respective core competencies to provide outstanding service to members, employers, agents and providers."
The renewed contract involves the provision, maintenance and support of the renowned Medware administration system and all IT infrastructure and software for Multimed users from IVR and accounting systems integration to desktop applications.
The unique Medware administration system has proven instrumental in the Multimed/NHA partnership. Customised to include a comprehensive workflow- tracking device, the system enables fast and effective response to any phone, web or email enquiries.
Essentially, Medware is a comprehensive healthcare administration solution designed to take advantage of modern Internet based technologies. It assures greatly enhanced productivity throughout the entire administration process and is easily scalable.
The new system was designed from the ground up to ease communications between members, providers and administrators. Highlights of the system include a comprehensive and secure web site, backed up by email based enquiries, and an innovative SMS based enquiry system. These features have been optimised for members, agents and providers, enabling 24 x 7 self-help access to their entire package of information, and thus greatly reducing call-centre frustration.
Medware currently handles over 200,000 principal members (500,000 lives) at 9 sites, including two in central Africa.
"The process of and access to information is what makes Medware so impressive," says Harvey. "We are a service industry driven by service excellence and it shows in our thinking, our innovation, our passion, our solutions and ultimately, our success."
