Nigerian IT market intelligence firm, 3G Communications, has launched IT-Clicks, an independent, online newspaper covering the ICT market in West Africa.
"IT-Clicks will provide news and market intelligence on telecommunications, computing, Internet, e-business - everything ICT," says editor Kenneth Nwogbo.
The publication aims to provide information that will shape policies and help readers make decisions regarding issues that impact them, says the editor.
3G Communications was founded in 2004 and is owned by 10 individuals comprising journalists, industry experts and entrepreneurs. To maintain the independence of the publication, says Nwogbo, no government funding is being solicited.
The owners are funding the site and have mobilised over R145 000, he says. "The company is also engaged in talks with potential advertisers."
Six journalists, who have spent most of their careers covering the ICT beat, staff the publication, says Nwogbo.
