Nihilent storms its way into elite list by achieving recertification of new version of CMMI DEV Level 5

Nihilent Technologies, a global consulting and solutions integration company, today announced that it has achieved the CMMI-DEV (Development) Level 5, Version 1.3. Certification (Capability Maturity Model Integration), so becoming a member of the most prestigious and elite of organisations that, at a global scale, have obtained the most demanding, recognised and hard to obtain quality certification in software engineering.

Nihilent Technologies has become only the 13th company in India and the 41st company globally to achieve this great feat. Furthermore, Nihilent has also become one of the very few companies globally to simultaneously and successfully achieve CMMI SVC Level 3, Version 1.3. Both the achievements come as a glowing endorsement of Nihilent's ability to provide high quality IT solutions and services through a robust software engineering process.

With major changes in terms of High Maturity practices interpretation in the new version of CMMI certification, Nihilent was able to establish and restructure SEPG, SQA, Metrics functions, Technology Cell, and Defect Prevention Cell to successfully achieve all CMMI related goals.

Since Nihilent's inception in 2000, the strategy was to focus on quality and processes, and within 18 months of inception, Nihilent was certified as ISO 9001-2000 compliant, and in 48 months assessed at SEI CMMI Level 5 Company. By achieving the upgraded and changed version of CMMI-DEV Level 5, Version 1.3 certification for the second time in its brief history, and CMMI SVC Level 3, Version 1.3, Nihilent Technologies aims to strongly augment its philosophy of partnering with its clients at a more strategic level to ultimately help achieve the kind of broad business outcomes that today's evolved customers expect.

This appraisal was conducted by SEI Certified High Maturity Lead Appraiser Patrick O' Toole with Appraisal Team Members. CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) is a framework developed by SEI (Software Engineering Institute), which contains the best practices with respect to project management, engineering, supporting processes and process management areas.
