Although IPv4 is still in use, and will be for some time, it cannot offer sufficient address space for all the network devices used in modern organisations. The IPv6 protocol offers great potential not only to relieve the IPv4 address-space shortage, but also to build larger, more efficient networks, supporting greater international interoperability. IPv6 allows for business innovation and opportunity by accommodating just-in-time processes, mobility features and location-based services.
As a network veteran, NIL fully understands the challenges and issues of IPv6 migration. With a variety of courses available (classroom training, e-learning, remote labs, and so on), NIL covers the whole spectrum of IPv6-related topics. In addition to these standard courses, NIL delivers customised and dedicated lectures for individual customers as needed.
Since IPv6 migration is a hot topic at the moment; many companies are turning to NIL for consulting on migration issues and IPv6 enablement. NIL's chief technology advisor, Ivan Pepelnjak, recently conducted a very successful Webinar, “Building IPv6 for the Service Provider Core”, for two corporations.
Hewlett-Packard (HP) and NIL have been partners for several years, and NIL is accredited as an HP Preferred Partner, demonstrating the highest level of partnership and trust between the parties. On 17 March 2011, Pepelnjak delivered an exclusive Webinar for an HP audience in Malaysia, mainly attended by presales staff.
A week later, he spoke to Turkcell, the leading mobile operator in Turkey. (With more than 33 million subscribers, Turkcell is the third-largest global communications operator in Europe.) Pepelnjak discussed IPv6 enablement and upgrade for an audience of 98 employees from Turkcell and its sister companies.
Both Webinars got very good response and will contribute to the expanding partnership between NIL and major technology providers.
