Nokia customer care network set for impressive growth

Johannesburg, 02 Aug 2006

Nokia South Africa today announced a number of important developments in its customer service offering. These will include an extended 24-month warranty, an increase in over 200 collection points and more than 50 walk-in service centres over the next 12 months. Added to this is the new toll-free customer care line and improved online facilities.

"We are looking at more than 100% growth in the number of visible collection points in the next 12 months, adding an additional 200, as well as having at least 50 walk-in service outlets. Those are impressive numbers by anyone's standards," says Nokia South Africa general manager Yalim Kir.

Additionally, from 1st August, any new Nokia handset purchased will come with an industry leading 24-month warranty. This warranty will apply to all of Nokia's phones. For customers to take full advantage of this new warranty, Nokia will also be growing the number and visibility of customer service points around the country, ensuring that it is easy and convenient for consumers to drop off their handset for any repair they need.

The new care line, 0861 1 NOKIA, will allow customers to speak to internationally trained service consultants from 7am - 9pm. This adds to the improving online facility at www.nokia.com, where customers can go for support and information on products.

Kir concludes: "Mobile communication is vital in South Africa and our customers need issues addressed in the quickest possible time. These new services will only add to our performance and reputation as the undisputed number one."
