Nokia Siemens Networks gets new CEO
Global telecommunications services provider Nokia Siemens Networks has appointed Rajeev Suri, as its CEO with effect from 1 October, reports Live Mint.com.
Suri succeeds Simon Beresford-Wylie, who will leave the Nokia Group executive board on 30 September.
Suri will be based at Nokia Siemens Networks' headquarters in Espoo, Finland. Suri currently leads the services business of Nokia Siemens Networks and has 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry.
CA chief to retire
CA chief executive John Swainson is to retire at the end of the year, or possibly earlier if a successor is appointed before then, states Computerworld.
CA says Swainson plans to retire on 31 December or upon the earlier selection of a successor.
Swainson was appointed CA's CEO in 2004 following the departure of his predecessor, Sanjay Kumar, in the wake of the accounting scandal which subsequently saw Kumar and former CA global sales head Stephen Richards jailed.
Fujitsu slashes UK jobs
Fujitsu, Japan's biggest computer-services provider, aims to cut as much as 10% of its workforce in the UK this year, says Bloomberg.
Following the economic recession, Fujitsu is considering eliminating as many as 1 200 jobs in the country after revenue from software solutions and hardware in the market decreased 7% in the fiscal year ended 31 March.
The Tokyo-based company, which employs 12 500 people in the UK, will decide on the details of the job cuts after negotiations with labour unions and employees.
