Nokia warns channel
Nokia's multimedia chief Annsi Vanjoki said last week industry rivals and partners alike had to come to terms with Nokia's new services proposition, or face being left behind in the dust, reports Mobile News.
The dealer and distributor channel, he said, had a clear role to play, but needs to grasp the nettle right away.
Nokia is in the process of reviewing all its UK distribution arrangements.
Channel awards return
The Australian channel's night of nights returns for the second year running with a new voting system and reseller categories, says CRN Australia.
Sydney's Shangri La Hotel will once again play host to this year's Australian CRN Channel Champion Awards on 7 November.
At last year's event, 350 of the channel's top players gathered to celebrate their achievements. This year's ceremony will be even bigger with at least 400 in attendance.
3Com offers new programme
3Com is trying to entice resellers back with an updated partner programme, states Resellernews.
Launched in 2006, the Focus programme now features SME solutions, retail specialisation and LAN specialisation. Partners are rewarded with rebates if they specialise in one of these areas.
The US-based networking vendor's local operation has been in disarray since 2001, when it cut back local staff to one.
